The first week began and i wanted to take eveything out of the time i had left in Köln. I decided to spend the monday on doing some final shopping for my family and friends.
On the tuesday both me and Ada had the day off so we decided to book a table at a cat cafe near us. The cafe was warm and cozy and they had 5 cats in the cafe. We only met 2 of the five cats. The other cat was a sweet little kitten called Kiwi who spent our whole stay at the cafe sleeping next to the window. We also met a soft and round cat named Pepper who let me pet her stomach. The cafe was so nice and the food was incredible. After the cat cafe we went around the down town area of Köln visiting shops and buying snacks and some ice cream. In the evening we met up with one of Ada's coworkers who was visiting germany all the way from egypt. We went to a christmas market together, the market was so nice and cozy. There was christmas music playing and everywhere smelled amazing! even tho it was over a month before christmas it got me into a christmas mood.
On Wednesday i had work and it went as usual. I was almost an hour late on that day, because i didn't know my work started earlier than usual. After work me and Ada decided to go try churros, because we saw people everyday eating churros on the streets. The churros were amazing!
On Thursday i met up with one of the german students from the school. Me and her walked around Köln for a bit and then went to another christmas market to meet up with the german teacher as well as all the other finnish students. We had hot chocolate at the market and went around the market. We said our goodbyes to the teachers and me and the other students went to get some boba and hang out. It was so much fun and the market was beautiful!
I had my last day of work on Friday. I got to work at 12, three hours earlier than the customers arrive. We had a shipment coming into the cafe like every other friday so we had to unbox everything before the customers arrived. It was actually really nice chatting and working with music playing. When the customers arrived it got really busy. They had the full cafe booked as well as a children's birthday party in the back so there was a lot to do! after the very hard they we settled down to have a glass of coke and just talk about the past 3 weeks, it wasn't easy saying goodbye to the others. I really grow to enjoy working at the cafe and really loved everyone's company so it was sad having to leave.
Saturday, our last full day at Köln. We spend the day mostly shopping. Me and Ada decided we want to put our own lock at the big Hohenzollern Bridge so we got a lock at a tourist shop and went to the bridg to attach it there. We also tried to go out to eat at many different restaurants, but it was so full everywhere that we couldn't go to any without a table reservation. We decided to eat some streetfood fries and order a meal at our appartment instead. It was raining the full day as it did everyday in Köln, but the day was still an amazing last day.
